Birdsong, recorded sound waveforms transformed into brass, ribbon (110 x 22 x 5 cm)

Each of the brass pieces represents a moment in the dawn chorus.

This work inspired by birds whose songs we no longer hear plus birds whose songs are in danger of being lost, like the Skylark, the Nightingale and the Song Thrush. The disappearance of birdsong is surely one of the most poignant signifier of the fragility of our natural environmental.
