Silent Echoes with a little sound snippet
Brass sound notes created from birdsong recordings, ribbon (110 x 22 x 5 cm)
Each of the brass pieces represents a moment in the dawn chorus. This work is inspired by birds whose songs we no longer hear as well as birds whose songs are in danger of being lost, like the Skylark, the Nightingale, and the Song Thrush. The disappearance of birdsong is surely one of the most poignant signifiers of the fragility of our natural environment.
